A true linguist, Natoora celebrates the very best in food with its selection of tantalisingly fresh produce and European goods. Founded in Paris in 2001, this purveyor of fine food first delivered across the city (and then the rest of France) sourcing its produce from over 150 farmers. On emigrating to Blighty in 2004, it added Italian goods to its repertoire. Today, Natoora is a truly Continental affair with its range of produce sourced from France, Italy and the UK. On Saturdays, this resident of Spa Terminus opens its doors, offering the opportunity to appreciate some of the best produce in London. Be delighted by the seasonal offerings such as the the assembled rosettes of delicately speckled radicchio, the oh-so-cute baby artichokes to the darkly-guised nestle. Always seasonal, inspirational for any cook, the display of fruit and vegetables belies a passionate dedication to bringing the best of the season to the table.
Address: Arch 1 Discovery, Dockley Road, SE16 4QT Natoora delivers across London and in most areas of the UK. See here for details.

At Cooper & Wolf, we arrived too late for either the gravlax ("tomb salmon) or the meatballs with lingonberry jam (kottbullar) but we were more than compensated by the pickled herring, crafted over two-days from a curing of spirit, vinegar, sugar, water and spices, and served with rye, egg and a simple salad. We loved the Scandinavian-influenced menu, laid-back vibe and view onto Millfields Park. 145 Chatsworth Rd, E5 0LA
London's very own Borough Market is celebrating its 1000th birthday. Yes, a millenium of trading from its beginning in 1014 or so to its present incarnation as one of the city's most important food markets and one of its busiest tourist attractions. A year of events worthy of such an anniversary is planned beginning with yesterday's Footsteps in Time. The market is still very much a trading market despite its daytime appearance. While the city sleeps wholesalers bring to market some of the country's finest produce: meat, poultry and fish, cheese and charcuterie, bread and patisserie, herbs and condiments, fruit and vegetables. The quality of produce, its diversity, the market's core values and commitment to supporting and showcasing producers continues to inspire, delight and influence how we as Londoners and many others think about food.
Address: 8 Southwark Street, London, SE1 1TL We turn to the wilds this weekend for our inspiration and find ourselves foraging for blackberries in Surrey. This is our second forage of the season and despite the weather - it has been wet all day, nothing could dampen our enthusiasm for an abundant harvest of plump ripe berries. Tonight's dish - a simple blackberry tart.
