Last weekend, I returned to an old haunt - Islington, one of London's most eclectic and interesting of villages. Avoid the immediate area around Angel and the High Street and head instead to Camden Passage to the lively antique market and design stores. Drop by Criterion antique auction house on your way to the design stores of Upper Street, where you will discover stores such as Aria and Folklore. Look out for antikmodern - a pop-up design store at albam for mid-modern Danish design (open to late March 2013), before concluding your day with a cocktail, at The Bar With No Name on Colebrook Row. Watch out for the write-up of this N1 food walk but in the meanwhile here is my Islington postcard.

SW1 is one of my favourite places in London. For me, it's the London of Londoners with all the vibrancy, colour and noise of a local neighbourhood. It is a place where people say hello and there is a sense of community. I like to always start my walk around Upper Tachbrook Street at one of London’s true neighbourhood markets or at Labella Sicilia, a small Italian family-run deli on Warwick Way.
