London larder: On the tenth day of Christmas fare

On the 10th day of Christmas, we ate CHOCOLATE. Our daily treat from our yearly advent calendar just wasn’t enough, so we searched across London for the perfect chocolate indulgence and this is what we found:

• Rococo Chocolates: For nearly three decades, Chantal Coady has been divining her artisan chocolates and holding us captive with their beautifully nuanced favours. We buy an artisan bar of Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh Dark Chocolate every year. (3 Moxon Street, London W1U 4EW. Tel. 020 7935 7780)
• Co&Co: We love Connor Friessen’s experimental approach to chocolate making. Like a true story-teller, his alchemy comes from the bespoke chocolates he creates. The perfect Christmas gift but order by 14th December.

• William Curley Patisserie Chocolatier: With a pedigree that includes time at the Savoy, this patissier chocolatier and his wife (a patissier in her own right) draw inspiration from Japan as well as the French classics. (198 Ebury Street SW1W 8UN Tel: 0207 730 5522)
• Charbonnel & Walker: This chocolatier of royal distinction has been tempting London with its dark chocolate truffles since 1875. We can never resist the Christmas Port & Cranberry truffles, although we'd also confess our weakness for English Rose & Violet creams.
