Hannah Dipper and Robin Farquhar are the team behind the aptly-named design consultancy – People will always need plates. Working to the philosophy that the everyday should be functional as well as beautiful, their tableware frequently draws inspiration from London’s most iconic landmarks. Popular commissions include mugs, plates, and tea towels of the Barbican Centre, Sir John Soanes Museum, Hayward Gallery and Royal Festival Hall along Southbank, Battersea Power station, and Trellick Tower, Kensall Rise. Each design is as iconic as the architectural building that it is based on- distinctively monochrome enhanced by a single pantone colour. The duo have published a book of their drawings, London Buildings: An Architectural Tour.
You will find People will always need plates at most London museums and design stores. A unique souvenir of your trip to London or a worthy design feature to your London table. Tel: 01442 876907; Email: [email protected]
