TO be really honest, we are a little embarrassed that we haven't promoted Persepolis before this. But truth be told, we only recently discovered this wonderful store ourselves. London is a little like that. To live here is to be a true locavore, where it is rare that you ever meander off your beaten track, so big is the city. But enough excuses, once you know about this wonderful store, Persepolis will forever be on your london essentials list.
A corner store in Peckham, this taste of Persian offers everything from za’atar and sumac (aromatic spices) to chickpeas and turmeric pickle. There's a cafe where you can order Persian food from a truly healthy meze plate to a date and cardamon latte. Run by Sally Butcher and her husband Jamshid, this grocery store and cafe is a celebration of the riches of Persian food. Sally has even several cookbooks that you can buy in the store as well on online. Persepolis, 28-30 Peckham High Street, SE15 5DT
